Rendering Rig – Delivered and Set Up

I officially own a PC.

First let me address what an amazing job PCS did building the computer; it looks clean, the cable management is great and the tubing has been done to provide as much room for air to circulate.

It appears that they provided me with a higher quality SLI card (EVGA) as opposed to than the stock version (which they also supplied). They’ve even adjusted it’s LED’s to match that of the SLI Card (Pictured).

Despite the slowdown midway through the production, due to an apparent uptake in orders, the computer was delivered last week Friday in a speedy 10 days. They deliver on weekends but at an extra cost.

Unbelievable.

I’ve had this PC for 2 days and it’s already given me problems (problems I’ve been told that are just part of the experience of owning a PC or at least can be fixed by performing a reboot).

I’ve had my Mac for 2 years, and I’m still yet to experience 1 problem.

Undeterred, I’m remaining confident; hoping it’s just teething pains and once I’ve installed all the necessary drivers and updates I can get on with what I need to. (Although the heat in the UK is unreal. I might have to wait a bit).

In the meantime, I’m getting a kick out of benchmarking it, which is leading me to think I may be able to take over the world, one CGI at a time.

Fingers crossed Windows doesn’t continue to show me a, remade, still blue, screen when attempting to load software. I’m excited to get ZBrush, Corona, Marvelous Designer and Fusion 360 installed asap – Max is already done but until I install Corona I’ll stick to just modelling a few things.
